The Parish of South Lafford
Come and Join us!
Due to the Covid-19 situation ALL CHURCHES ARE NOW CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
For the latest national information, please see the Church of England website:- https://www.churchofengland.org/more/media-centre/coronavirus-covid-19-guidance-churches
Children are welcome at all our services. Some parents worry that children may make a noise during the service - please don't worry. We never mind - we'd just be delighted to see you.
The parish has a special team devoted to work with children and young people, and new ideas are always welcome!
Come and join us for 45 mins of fun, stories and singing, ending with some food - in the vestry at St Andrew's Church, Folkingham, at 4 pm.
We launched our new once a month family friendly time - Fun@4 on Sunday 12th January 2020. We all had a great time showing each other some of our favourite Christmas presents, we played with snowballs, sang a song, ate loads of yummy cake, and heard about the greatest story ever – the gift of God’s love at Christmas.
On February 16th we are going to continue our story of love – and will be decorating some heart biscuits with icing and sprinkles so that we can give them to someone we love.
On 8th March we are having our celebration of pets – so bring along your pet – or a picture of your pet and we will give thanks for all the joy and companionship that pets bring us.
Come along and join in the Fun@4.
Open the Book
Our children's team also goes into Osbournby School to lead the children in performances of Open the Book (plays based on stories from the Bible). All in all we have great fun!
Church Music and Drama (MAD)
In September 2018 we started an after-school club at Osbournby School called Church MAD (Music and Drama) and eleven children performed a play and led the prayers at the Harvest Festival at Osbournby Church in October. The children helped with a Children's Remembrance Day service at Aunsby Church and at the Santa Claus service, performing in the children’s play The Selfish Giant at Walcot Church. Their latest venture was to perform a tableau about Mary the mother of Jesus on Mothering Sunday (31 March 2019).
